Spring is just started and almost 900 orienteers entered to to the fourth edition of 5 Days Italy Campiglio 2022. To this number will be added, if they will confirm their pre-covid adhesion, at least other 300 competitors for an audience today of 23 countries representing 4 continents.
A lot of women, more than 44% of the competitors, and a lot of young people , 250 under 20 years old. A positive message that make us hope for the future of orienteering. Among the most numerous categories, MW55 is certainly confirmed, and once again the Scandinavians are in love with Italy, with more than half of the participants coming from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark:
Finally, many are the protagonists and ex-champions who didn’t want to miss the appointment in the “Bel Paese”, that as known this year after the 5 Days Italy, will stage WMOC Gargano Puglia.
At the start of the next July 2nd in Madonna di Campiglio, among many, there will be also Ida Bobach – World Champion Long and Relay 2015, Lars Lönnkvist – World Champion Relay 1979, Barbro Lönnkvist – World Champion Relay 1981 and Individual Silver 1986, Fredrik Löwegren – Silver and Bronze at the European Championship 2002 and 2000, Anna Mårsell – 4th class at world Middle 2005, Mathilde Smedegaard Madsen – Danish national, Joakim Svensk – winner Jukola 2019, Jannis Bonek 2x top20 Cansiglio, Yury Masnyy – master world champion 2021 M35, Andrei Lamov – 6x Ski-O world champion – last medal in 2021, Magdalena Olsson – Ski-o world medalist 2019 and 2021 (3 individual silvers)
