1,200 orienteers, representing 31 countries and 5 continents, have already punched their ticket to Trentino from all over the world, even from Brazil, New Zealand and Hong Kong. And by March 31 you can still register at a discounted price: what are you waiting for?!
THE NUMBERS OF 5 DAYS 2024
The Czech Republic is the nation that, to date, will have the largest number of entries after the Scandinavian countries, which top the list with 162 entries from Sweden. Winning, however, the current team ranking in terms of participation is O-92 Piano di Magadino (18 orienteers) from Switzerland, followed by OK Jilemnice (14 orienteers) from the Czech Republic.

Once again 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella proves to be an event truly for everyone, as evidenced by the age group represented: from 87-year-old White Michael from Great Britain to the very young Joensuu Monte from Finland, with only 5 years.
The masters, aged 35 to 65, prove to be the event’s loyalists, accounting for 66 percent of the athletes at the start, while the presence of the under-18s is about 24 percent. Overall, a shared participation between men (57.2%) and women (47.8%) in the Paganella Dolomites.
TOP RUNNERS ON THE PAGANELLA DOLOMITES
Numerous top names will be on the start line of the competitions in Trentino. Among the men will be Toby Scott, a member of the New Zealand national team, Finland’s Mårten Boström, 2013 World Sprint Champion, whose interview you can read here, Sweden’s Jan Troeng, with a medal at the 2001 JWOCs and several podiums at Tiomila, and Tue Lassen, coach of the Danish national team until last year, as well as two-time 2015-2016 World Sprint Relay champion and silver medalist at the World Championships in Venice.
There will also be fun among the women with the participation of Sweden’s Magdalena Olsson, reigning World Sprint champion and winner of the 2024 World Cup. The top competitor, also in Sci-O, will be in good company with Annika Simonsen, element of the Danish national team, Sofia Haajanen, ex Finnish national team and silver medalist at the 2012 EOCs, and Norway’s Pia Young Vik, 3 medals winner at the 2023 JWOCs.
Among the youngsters, on the other hand, Norwegians Vegard Kittilsen and Oskar Spets Storhov are prominent together with Finns Oskari Liukkonen and Juha Sorvisto, a decade ago among the ranks of the national team.

Finally, in the Masters category, the names that will raise the bar of challenges are Lars Skjeset (M40), ex Norwegian national at the 2006 EOCs podium, and Fredrik Löwegren (M50), Swedish national medalist at the 2000 and 2002 EOCs.

I NUMERI DI 5 DAYS 2024 AD OGGI
La Repubblica Ceca è la nazione che, ad oggi, avrà il maggior numero di presenze dopo i Paesi Scandinavi, che svettano con i 162 iscritti dalla Svezia. A vincere, invece, l’attuale classifica team in termini di partecipazione la squadra (18 orientisti) di O-92 Piano di Magadino dalla Svizzera, seguita da OK Jilemnice dalla Repubblica Ceca (14 orientisti).
Ancora una volta 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella si conferma una manifestazione davvero per tutti, come dimostra la fascia di età rappresentata: dall’87enne White Michael dalla Gran Bretagna al giovanissimo Joensuu Monte dalla Finlandia, con solo 5 anni.
I master, tra i 35 e i 65 anni, si dimostrano i fedelissimi della manifestazione, rappresentando il 66% degli atleti al via, mentre la presenza degli under 18 è pari a circa il 24%. In generale, una partecipazione condivisa tra uomini (57,2%) e donne (47,8%) nelle Dolomiti Paganella.
I TOP RUNNER SULLE DOLOMITI PAGANELLA
Sono numerosi i nomi di spicco che saranno sulla start line delle competizioni in Trentino. Tra gli uomini, Toby Scott, membro della Nazionale neozelandese, il finlandese Mårten Boström, Campione del Mondo Sprint 2013, di cui potete leggere una nostra intervista qui, lo svedese Jan Troeng, con una medaglia ai JWOC 2001 e vari podi alla Tiomila, e Tue Lassen, allenatore della Nazionale danese fino allo scorso anno, nonché due volte campione del Mondo Sprint Relay 2015-2016 e argento al Mondiale di Venezia.
Anche al femminile ci sarà da divertirsi con la partecipazione della svedese Magdalena Olsson, campionessa del Mondo Sprint in carica e vincitrice della Coppa del Mondo 2024.
