5 Days Dolomiti Paganella: 1,300 registered participants reached
The number of athletes who will be on the start line of 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella is growing day by day. To the 1128 official registrants are added the participants of the IOF Young Leaders Academy and a large and young representation from Ukraine, for a total of 1,300 presences for each stage.
UPDATED DATA FOR THE 2024 EDITION
The event continues to establish itself more and more as an international event. The data related to Sweden and Norway is not surprising: from the two nations come almost 30 percent of those registered to date. This is a percentage that not only highlights Scandinavian commitment and leadership in orienteering but also testifies to how the practice of this discipline, in northern Europe, represents a true way of life.
The other well represented countries on the Paganella plateau are certainly the Czech Republic and Switzerland, with 20 percent of the total attendance, while Italy stands at about 6 percent. The widespread interest in Italy and in the sports and tourism proposal structured by the organization of 5 Days, in collaboration with Dolomiti Paganella and local administrations, has also allowed registrations from the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, Australia, Brazil and New Zealand. An increasingly global participation, attracted by the beautiful location and the high technical level of the competition.
YOUNG ATHLETES FROM UKRAINE
Also testing themselves in Trentino will be 70 young Ukrainian athletes, led by coach Olena Dotsenko, who has chosen 5 Days as a training camp to take advantage of the intensity and variety of the proposed terrain and to hone their skills and technique.

THE YOUNG LEADERS ACADEMY
Twenty-six young people between the ages of 16 and 25 from 12 different countries will be the protagonists of the Young Leaders Academy, promoted by the International Orienteering Federation, for the second consecutive year hosted by 5 Days. Coordinating for them will be former world champion and icon of the sport Jörgen Mårtensson assisted by Anders Björklund, Sigrid Vehus Skjerve, and Valtteri Heikkinen.
The purpose of the Academy is to enable young orienteers to support their talent and competencies regarding developing orienteering, but it will also be an opportunity to network, learn, grow, and compare in an environment that celebrates excellence in orienteering.
With intensive training sessions, interactive workshops, and hands-on time, the Academy will be the highlight of the event to improve personal orienteering, organization and coaching skills, all the way to developing an individual project on how to develop and promote orienteering in your country.

5 Days Dolomiti Paganella: raggiunta quota 1300 iscritti
Cresce di giorno in giorno il numero degli atleti che saranno sulla start line di 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella. Ai 1128 iscritti ufficiali si aggiungono, infatti, i partecipanti alla Young Leaders Academy della IOF e una nutrita e giovane rappresentanza dall’Ucraina, per un totale di 1300 presenze per ogni tappa.
I DATI AGGIORNATI DELL’EDIZIONE 2024
La manifestazione continua ad attestarsi sempre più in qualità di evento internazionale. Non stupisce il dato legato a Svezia e Norvegia: dalle due nazioni proviene quasi il 30% degli iscritti ad oggi. Si tratta di una percentuale che non solo evidenzia l’impegno e la leadership scandinava nell’orienteering, ma testimonia come la pratica di questa disciplina, nel nord Europa, rappresenti un vero e proprio stile di vita.
Gli altri Paesi ben rappresentati sull’altopiano della Paganella sono sicuramente Repubblica Ceca e Svizzera, con il 20% delle presenze complessive, mentre l’Italia si attesta su circa il 6%. L’interesse diffuso per l’Italia e per la proposta sportiva e turistica strutturata dall’organizzazione di 5 Days, in collaborazione con Dolomiti Paganella e con le amministrazioni locali, ha consentito inoltre iscrizioni anche da Stati Uniti, Giappone, Regno Unito, Australia, Brasile e Nuova Zelanda. Una partecipazione sempre più globale, attratta dalla splendida location e dall’alto livello tecnico della competizione.
GIOVANI ATLETI DALL’UCRAINA
Si metteranno alla prova in Trentino anche 70 giovani atleti ucraini, capitanati dall’allenatrice Olena Dotsenko, che ha scelto 5 Days come campo di allenamento per sfruttare l’intensità e la varietà dei terreni proposti e per affinare le loro competenze e la loro tecnica.

LA YOUNG LEADERS ACADEMY
Ventisei ragazzi tra i 16 e 25 anni da 12 diversi Paesi saranno i protagonisti della Young Leaders Academy, promossa dalla International Orienteering Federation, per il secondo anno consecutivo ospitata da 5 Days. Per loro ci sarà il coordinamento dell’ex campione del mondo e icona di questo sport Jörgen Mårtensson coadiuvato da Anders Björklund, Sigrid Vehus Skjerve e Valtteri Heikkinen.
Lo scopo della Academy è consentire ai giovani orientisti di sostenere il proprio talento e le proprie competenze in materia di sviluppo dell’orienteering, ma sarà anche un’opportunità per fare rete, per imparare, crescere e confrontarsi in un ambiente che celebra l’eccellenza nell’orienteering.
Con sessioni di formazione intensiva, workshop interattivi e momenti di confronto pratico, l’Academy si pone come momento culminante dell’evento, per migliorare le capacità personali di orientamento, organizzazione e coaching, fino all’elaborazione di un progetto individuale su come sviluppare e promuovere l’orienteering nel proprio Paese.
