5 Days Paganella Dolomites: the start with the prologue
With the 187 steps of the Andalo’s heart gym kicks off the prologue of 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella, a preview of the international event that is hosted by the Trentino plateau until Saturday.
The start near Andalo Life, which involved as many as 450 orienteers, was also spared from the rain that raged until a few minutes before the start. It was an insidious challenge structured on four different paths (White, Yellow, Red and Black) for all those who wanted to warm up their legs in this first Sprint race of the week, which needed constant contact with the map to avoid getting lost.
“In this prologue, the orienteers were compared with a typical map of a Trentino village – the creator Jessica Lucchetta of PWT Italy explained – so it was very intricate, with many fences and narrow passages, but also more open areas, in which they had to untangle themselves and find the best choice, which was by no means a given. I think it was a fun prologue, especially at the first point, at the end of a very steep stairs. The fastest to climb it were thus able to win the title of Queen and King of the Stairs, with the award ceremony scheduled for today”.

This afternoon there will be the first of the 5 stages: from 4 a.m. the Middle Distance in Andalo Life, while at 7 a.m., just before the Stage 1 awards ceremony, the 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella opening ceremony will be held, also in Andalo Life, postponed from the initial schedule due to bad weather.
As a reminder, the Event Center in Fai della Paganella is open from 9 a.m. to noon, while from 2 p.m. the race office is set up at the race arena in Andalo Life.

5 Days Dolomiti Paganella: al via il prologo!
Con i 187 gradini della palestra del cuore di Andalo prende il via il prologo di 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella, anteprima della manifestazione internazionale che fino a sabato viene ospitata dall’altopiano trentino.
La partenza in prossimità di Andalo Life, che ha coinvolto ben 450 orientisti, è stata risparmiata anche dalla pioggia che imperversava fino a qualche minuto prima dello start. Per tutti quelli che hanno voluto scaldare le gambe in questa prima Sprint race della settimana una sfida insidiosa strutturata su quattro diversi percorsi (Bianco, Giallo, Rosso e Nero), che hanno necessitato un costante contatto con la mappa per evitare di perdersi.
“In questo prologo gli orientisti si sono confrontati con la tipica mappa di un paese trentino – spiega l’ideatrice Jessica Lucchetta del PWT Italia – quindi molto intricata, con numerosi recinti e passaggi stretti, ma anche zone più aperte, in cui si sono dovuti districare e trovare la scelta migliore, cosa affatto non scontata. Credo che sia stato un prologo divertente, in particolar modo nel primo punto, al termine di una scala molto ripida. I più veloci a salirla hanno potuto così vincere il titolo di Queen e King of the Stairs, con premiazione fissata oggi”.

Oggi pomeriggio andrà in scena la prima delle 5 tappe di 5 Days: dalle ore 4 la Middle Distance ad Andalo Life, mentre alle ore 7, appena prima della cerimonia di premiazione dello Stage 1, si terrà la cerimonia di apertura della manifestazione sempre ad Andalo Life, posticipata rispetto al programma iniziale a causa del maltempo.
Ricordiamo che l’Event Center a Fai della Paganella è aperto dalle ore 9 alle 12, mentre dalle ore 14 la segreteria viene adibita presso l’arena gara ad Andalo Life.
