For five days they battled it out exploring, with map and compass, the Trentino Paganella plateau. A stage challenge involving 1,500 orienteers from more than 40 countries started in Andalo and Cavedago, continued in the woods on Mount Fausior and at Prati di Gaggia, and ended with the grand finale in Fai della Paganella. 

Dominating the sixth edition of 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella, organized by Park World Tour Italia under the aegis of FISO-Italian Federation of Orienteering Sports, with the partnership of local Municipalities, in collaboration with Trentino Marketing and APT Dolomiti Paganella, were the unstoppable Swedish Helena Karlsson and the young Norwegian Vegard Kittilsen. On the overall podium, second place went to Denmark’s Ida Øbro and Norway’s Sindre Østgulen Deisz, followed by Norway’s Kristin Melby Jacobsen and Denmark’s Jess Rasmus Møller.

The final sprint in Fai della Paganella (Stage 5) was held later in the day, which crowned two new protagonists: Simen Spets Storhov (NOR, 16’03”) and Pia Young Vik (NOR, 14’20”), who won three medals at the JWOC 2023.

Completing the podium were second Sindre Østgulen Deisz (NOR, 16’26”) and Annika Simonsen (DEN, 15’45”), with third Jess Rasmus Møller (DEN, 16’35”) and Kristin Melby Jacobsen (NOR, 15’46”).

“In this sixth edition we reached really important numbers – comments Mauro Gazzerro, President of 5 Days – thanks above all to the strong synergy with APT Dolomiti Paganella and the municipalities of the plateau. In 2025 we will return for the third time with 5 Days in Madonna di Campiglio: from 5 to 12 July, a new opportunity to discover the beauty of our Italy through a sporting passion such as orienteering”. Gazzerro also reported the compliments of FISO President Sergio Anesi on the great success of the event.

‘A wonderful week in Italy – the words of Helena Karlsson – It was a lot of fun to race on this terrain. My favourite distance was definitely the Long, a tough race but in a very fascinating and technically challenging terrain”.

“In the competitions during the week, especially in the Long – the comment by Vegard Kittilsen – I felt really strong physically, which was a good restart since I was sick until two weeks ago. I definitely felt a bit tired in the final Sprint in Fai. An overall great experience on wonderful terrain”.

Karlsson e Kittilsen sono i migliori di 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella

Per cinque giorni si sono dati battaglia esplorando, con mappa e bussola, l’altopiano trentino della Paganella. Una sfida a tappe che ha coinvolto 1500 orientisti da oltre 40 Paesi, partita da Andalo e Cavedago, proseguita nei boschi sul Monte Fausior e ai Prati di Gaggia, per concludersi con il gran finale a Fai della Paganella. 

A dominare la sesta edizione della manifestazione internazionale di corsa orientamento 5 Days Dolomiti Paganella, organizzata da Park World Tour Italia sotto l’egida della FISO-Federazione Italiana Sport Orientamento, con i patrocini delle amministrazioni locali, in collaborazione con Trentino Marketing e APT Dolomiti Paganella, sono stati l’inarrestabile svedese Helena Karlsson e il giovane norvegese Vegard Kittilsen.

Sul podio assoluto, secondo posto per la danese Ida Øbro e il norvegese Sindre Østgulen Deisz, seguiti dalla norvegese Kristin Melby Jacobsen e dal danese Jess Rasmus Møller.

In giornata si è tenuta la Sprint finale a Fai della Paganella (Stage 5) che ha incoronato, invece, due nuovi protagonisti: Simen Spets Storhov (NOR, 16’03”) e Pia Young Vik (NOR, 14’20”), forte di 3 medaglie ai JWOC 2023. Completano il podio i secondi Sindre Østgulen Deisz (NOR, 16’26”) e Annika Simonsen (DEN, 15’45”), con i terzi Jess Rasmus Møller (DEN, 16’35”) e Kristin Melby Jacobsen (NOR, 15’46”).

“In questa sesta edizione abbiamo raggiunto numeri davvero importanti – commenta Mauro Gazzerro, Presidente di 5 Days – grazie soprattutto alla forte sinergia con APT Dolomiti Paganella e con i Comuni dell’altopiano. Nel 2025 torneremo per la terza volta con 5 Days a Madonna di Campiglio: dal 5 al 12 luglio una nuova occasione per scoprire le bellezze della nostra Italia attraverso una passione sportiva come la corsa orientamento”. Gazzerro ha riportato anche i complimenti del Presidente FISO Sergio Anesi per il grande successo della manifestazione. 

“Una bellissima settimana in Italia – ha commentato Helena Karlsson – È stato molto divertente gareggiare su questi terreni. La mia distanza preferita è stata sicuramente la Long, una gara tosta ma in un territorio molto affascinante e tecnicamente stimolante”.

“Nelle competizioni in settimana, soprattutto nella Long – ha dichiarato Vegard Kittilsen – mi sono sentito davvero forte a livello fisico, un’ottima ripartenza visto che fino a due settimane fa sono stato male. Ho sicuramente accusato un po’ di stanchezza nella Sprint finale a Fai. Un’esperienza bellissima nel complesso su terreni meravigliosi”.
